Leo Dicesaris is a native of Columbus, Georgia, where he is the Owner and Pizzaiolo of Cerrone’s Brick Oven Pizzeria. Leo’s Early years were spent being raised in an Italian-American family that originally came to America through Ellis Island in the early 1920s, bringing the name of his pizzeria with them, Cerrone.
He spent his younger years always in the kitchen watching his Nonni prepare homemade pasta and pizzas. Leo’s professional career in pizza began on Staten Island, New York, learning the art of pizza from World Champion and fellow WPC Team member Andrew Scudera.
After learning the art of pizza in New York, Leo decided to bring the Art of pizza to Columbus, GA, to honor his family’s Italian and New York roots. Shortly after establishing his restaurant, he decided to further master the art of pizza by heading out to San Fransico, CA, to learn from 13-time World Champion Tony Gemignani and World Champion Laura Meyer, successfully completing the Course at the Scuola Italiana Pizzaioli. Shortly after completing his education in pizza at Tony’s International School of Pizza, he decided to learn the art of pizza where it originated, Naples, Italy. He attended the AVPN (Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana) and successfully completed the program.
