Matt

Molina

Matt was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He was hired at a small Italian restaurant in 2004 where he first learned how to make a New York style pizza at age 17. He continued expanding his interest in pizza and different styles by working for Chicago based company, Rosatis and New York based, Grimaldis. Matt also spent a couple years working with a wood fire oven that was located inside a small market. He was approached by a friend, whom he had worked with in many of those different locations. That friend ask him to move to San Francisco to run a Chicago style kitchen for Tony Gemignani. He accepted the opportunity and has been the head pizzaiolo at Capo’s since it opened in 2012. In 2014, he competed for his first time at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas and took 1st place in the pan devision. That 1st place win sent him on to compete for and win the title of Pizza Maker of the year for 2014. He is now the chef at Graffiti Pizza.
